Kindle model list - how to find the right case for your model

Before ordering a Kindle case, be sure you confirm your model type using one of the two methods below.

Confirm your device type and generation

Method 1 - Kindle Settings

  • ○ Go to the Home screen and swipe down to open the menu.
  • ○ Tap Settings (or All Settings)
  • ○ Select Device Options
  • ○ Tap Device Info
  • ○ A pop-up will show the device type and generation

Method 2 - Back of Kindle

  • ○ Look at the back of your Kindle towards the bottom
  • ○ There is faint text containing a model number (e.g., "Model No. PQ94WIF")
  • ○ Kindle Paperwhite 5 (2021): Features a flush screen and a black Amazon logo on the back
  • ○ Kindle Paperwhite 4 (2018): Flush screen with a blue Amazon logo on the back
  • ○ Kindle 4 (2011): Silver with physical buttons on the front
